As Vanderbilt utilizes VTS employees more and more, we need to update our policies to reflect this situation. Since they are under contract by Vanderbilt, they already have access to our electronic resources so it would make much more sense to grant them checkout privileges, assigning them to the STAFF User group. However, due to the fact that these employees are temporary, resource sharing privileges will not be granted.
Policy: VTS Users will be assigned to the STAFF User group and receive regular STAFF checkout privileges. They also have access to e-resources. But they will not be allowed to place RSS requests.
