Historically, DVDs and video items located in the “Central Media Collection” area have had a 28-day loan period for all users, rather than the standard loan periods of 1 year for faculty, 90 days for graduates, and 30 days for undergrades and staff. Additionally, items in the “Central Media Collection” area have not been requestable, that means Faculty and students needed to visit the library in person to retrieve and check out these items at the service desk.
Beginning in November 2025, the Central library will allow faculty to place requests for items in the “Central Media Collection” area. These items will continue to have a 28-day loan period for all users.
