* Library Catalog should sort oldest to newest across all formats.

What was decided upon? (e.g. what has been updated or changed?) Bypass Primo’s default to online resources

Why was this decided? (e.g. explain why this decision was reached. It may help to explain the way a procedure used to be handled pre-Alma) Search results are prioritizing online materials above everything – when you sort by date, it orders online materials before ever showing other formats. Should sort oldest to newest across all formats. Can e-books be pulled out as its own format (and not lumped in with all books?) It is problematic for special collections that narrowing down to “books” still includes microfilm and e-books. What’s the standard terminology for this across the board? I’m seeing different terms being used: “material type” (Central), “resource type” (Music), “format” (Peabody and Special Collections)

Additional information or notes. Results come up in alpha order but we hope to refine the list in day 2–it is a protocol issue. In the meantime, training is adding this to their roll out, encouraging users to check all options.
